Obituary of Jessie Gadziala

Jessica “Jessie” Hucko Gadziala, 88, of the Southwood at Norwell (MA) Nursing Home died peacefully there Tuesday, August 29, 2017. Jessie was a longtime Clinton resident who moved to Massachusetts to be closer to her children.

She was born in Yorkville, NY, on October 3, 1928 to Michael and Victoria Gronek Hucko. She attended Clinton schools, graduating High School in 1947. Jessie went on to graduate from the St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in 1950. Following graduation Jessie went to work at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica, NY, working in various departments till her full retirement in 1999.

In 1953 Jessie married the love of her life, Frank Gadziala, in Clinton, NY. She and Frank resided there until his untimely passing in 1969. Jessie continued to reside in Clinton focusing her life on her children, son Stephen, daughter Cindy, and her love of nursing at St. Elizabeth’s.

Throughout her life, she was an active member in groups at St. Mary’s Church in Clinton, the Clinton Historical Society, New York State Nurses’ Association, Member of the American Red Cross, and the Clinton and St. Elizabeth’s Alumni Associations.

She leaves a son Stephen, of Lincoln, MA, a daughter Cynthia of Weymouth, MA and a grandson, Matthew, of Plaistow, NH. Jessie was predeceased by her parents and four sisters, Mary, Sally, Jean, and Julie.

Calling hours will be from the Owens-Pavlot-Rogers Funeral Service in Clinton from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday, September 1, 2017. The funeral will be from St. Mary’s Church in Clinton on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at 10 AM.
