Douglas L. Vunk, 86, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017.
He was born in Clinton on September 18, 1930, a son of the late Harold and Rita (Finch) Vunk. He graduated from Clinton Central School and played for the Clinton Comets. Doug served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from General Electric and BOCES. Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn; two sons, a daughter and their spouses, Dennis and Dawn Vunk, Debbie Vunk, and Dale and Robin Vunk; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister Joyce Clemens. He was predeceased by his brothers Lloyd Robert, Maurice, James and Clifford Vunk.
All are invited to call Wednesday from 4-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park.
