Obituary of Shirley Law Gaul

Shirley Law Gaul Westmoreland – Shirley Law Gaul, 83, of Westmoreland, passed away at the Presbyterian Home for CNY, New Hartford on August 7, 2016. She was born December 18, 1932, daughter of the late Oscar and Gladys (Creaser) Law. Shirley was a graduate of Westmorland Central School, received her Bachelor's from Oneonta State and her Master's Degree in education from Syracuse University. Shirley taught first grade at Westmoreland Central School for over 38 years. She was a member of the Church of the Annunciation, Clark Mills, where she sang in the choir. Shirley was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She is survived by her sister and her spouse, Jean and Steven McDonough of Jacksonville, FL; brother-in-law, Robert Coughlin of Fairport, NY; nieces and nephews, Ross McDonough of Jacksonville, FL, David McDonough of Jacksonville, FL, John (Diane) Rivenburgh of Huntsville, AL, Dennis (Sara) of Cockeysville, MD, Gary Coughlin of Dorchester, SC, Timothy (Janet) Coughlin of Rochester, NY, and Theresa Coughlin of Dorchester, SC; cousin, William Coons (Marta) of Ellicott City, MD; very close family friend, Marthe Saville and close friends, Russell Jr. and Kay McGregor, Kathleen Chiarmonte, Sharon (Richard) Roux, Sheila (Ron) Yacobucci, Richard (Fran) McGregor; many cousins, including John, Tom and Tim Creaser as well as many great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters, Doris and husband Ken Rivenburgh and Char Coughlin; cousin, Bill Creaser; and special friend, Russell McGregor. All are invited to call from 10-11am on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Church of the Annunciation, Clark Mills. Following calling hours a Mass will be held at 11 am at the church.
