Obituary of Sharon Y Storm

Sharon Elaine Yousey Storm went to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in eternity on May 18, 2016.
She was the second daughter of Christian Earl Yousey and Lila Mildred Stanton Yousey. She was born May 4, 1944. She married Kenneth F. Storm October 19, 1968 at the Lowville Baptist church and they celebrated 48 wonderful years together.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth, daughter Carrie Allen Storm and son Kenneth Goodwin Storm. She is also survived by dear sisters Carolyn Y. Virkler and Joyce Y. Martin and special brother-in-law Thomas Martin, a brother Kevin E. Yousey and sisters-in-law Linda Y. Yousey and Barbara S. Morris. She also treasured her numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She leaves wonderful friends too numerous to name. She will miss them all until they join her in heaven.
Sharon graduated from Lowville Central School and Eastern Nazerine College. She taught grade school at New Hartford Central, the child care center at Hamilton College and Immanuel Baptist Church Christian School. She was a real estate sales person for Joseph R. Carucci and later the administrator of the Swancott Adult Assisted Care Home. For many years she was a member and area representative of Christian Women's Club as well as regional speaker for them sharing her faith throughout New York and Pennsylvania. She was a collector of collections as well as a gourmet cook, a member of the Sauquoit Valley Garden Club and the DAR. A member of the Lowville Baptist Church and the Immanuel Baptist Church of New Hartford where she taught Sunday school, AWANA, vacation bible school and summer neighborhood vacation bible classes. She also held many bible studies at the Presbyterian Home and the Harding Nursing Home.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Behr's Homecare and care providers Sandy Hill and Kim Bonanza, also her prayer partner of many years Louise Chestnut.
All are invited to memorial calling hours Friday, May 20, 2016 from 4-6pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 22, 2016 at Immanuel Baptist Church, New Hartford.
In lieu of flowers, which Sharon believed were for the living, please donate in her memory to the Utica Rescue Mission or the Alzheimer's Association.
