Thomas S. Williams
March 2, 1940 –January 20, 2025 Deansboro, NY
Tom Williams, a devoted husband, father, entrepreneur, and racing enthusiast, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025 at the age of 84.
Born on March 2, 1940, Tom grew up with a strong sense of family and determination. In 1958, he married the love of his life, Lynda Harrington, and together they built a loving home and raised five sons.
Tom was a man of remarkable work ethic and vision. After attending Utica College, he pursued a career in business, owning and operating numerous NAPA Automotive Parts stores. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to build a successful racing wheel business and later, a motorcycle eyewear company that took him traveling across the country.
Tom’s passion for racing was a cornerstone of his life. He owned a stock car racing team and was deeply respected in the local racing circuit. His dedication to the sport earned him a place in the Midstate Stock Car Racing Hall of Fame as a Pioneer in Local Racing, a recognition that filled him with immense pride. He also shared a love for NASCAR with his family, eagerly traveling to races and creating cherished memories.
Tom’s legacy is carried on by his loving family: his sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Mary-Beth Williams of Waterville, Jeffrey and Sherri Williams of Rome, Brian and Ninette Williams of Seattle, Benjamin and Debby Williams of Cedarville, and Andrew and Patricia Williams of Deansboro. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and his brother and sister-in-law, John and Joan Williams of Red Bank, NJ.
Tom was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lynda, and his parents, Thomas J. and Veda (Smith) Williams.
At Tom’s request, there will be no public services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held this summer, allowing family and friends to come together to honor his memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to the Barton Hose Company-Deansboro Fire Department, PO Box 83, Deansboro, NY 13328.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service.
In Loving Memory
