Hey mom! Today I was volunteering at a food pantry and was giving out food to the homeless and a woman came in and she reminded me so much of you. So high spirited and smiling even though she’s struggling. She even looked like you. I couldn’t keep myself together, I had to step out of the room for a little bit. It made me realize how strong some people can be even though they are struggling. I’m proud of you for holding on as long as you could. I prayed over the women and wished her the best of luck. It might not change her way of life but I hope she feels a little more loved. I wish I could’ve done the same to you before you passed. I love you.

I grew up in the same neighborhood as Megan, a couple blocks away on Carrollwood Village Drive. Her dad coached my t-ball team and I would play with her and Adam all the time at the duck pond, on our bikes, running around the neighborhood and having a good time. They were both always nice to me, even though not all the kids in the neighborhood were at that age. We got older and went our separate ways, so the Megan I knew was mostly her as a child - really fun, silly, and kind. When I think of Megan, I think of her running, moving, always moving, lively and fun. Not all of us enjoyed being kids, but Megan did. I hadn't seen Megan in years, and was devastated to learn that she was no longer here when I was just thinking about her, wondering where she was or how she was doing. I know that she had some struggles later in life, but I'm here to tell everyone who reads about her now that when I knew her she was just another happy kid, and that's always how I'm going to remember her.

Amy and Ed, Matt and I are sending are deepest sympathy and prayers to you. Megan was a beautiful,smart young woman. Many people had tried to help her but it was not .a success.
