Obituary of Jean C. Ossont

Jean C. Ossont, 91, of Westmoreland, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2021, and joined her late husband Bob on his birthday. She was born on May 28, 1930 in Utica, a daughter of the late Wayland and Charlotte (Parks) Cooper, and graduated from UFA. On April 23, 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Ossont. The couple shared 70 years of love and friendship before his passing on October 16, 2019. Jean was a member of the Westlanders and was an active member of the Bartlett Baptist Church where she managed the after-funeral luncheons. She cherished time spent with her family most of all. Jean is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Robert and Sherry of Mt. Morris, Charles and Kathy of Greenville, WI, Guy and Nancy of Lowell, David and Charlene of Carmichael, CA, Dennis of Norwich, CT, Joy and Steven Mientkiewicz of Rushford, and Steven and Laura of Westmoreland; daughters-in-law, Vicky Ossont of Big Moose and Ann Ossont of Norwich, CT; many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sister Christine Willson of Camden; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Kay McGregor. Jean was predeceased by her husband Bob; two sons, Thomas and Jeffrey; and a daughter, Charlean.
